Certificates and Documents
On graduating, graduates receive a Bachelor or Master degree certificate, a testimonial, a transcript of records and a diploma supplement.
The testimonial records all the modules successfully completed including their grades and respective credits, the subject and grade of the thesis and the average grade (where relevant also grades in the subjects or focus of studies that were successfully completed). Performance in additional optional modules is also given, unless students object. The testimonial gives the date of the final examination and usually the date of issue.
Besides this, graduates receive a transcript of records in English, which contains all the information provided in the testimonial and therefore also functions as an English language translation of the testimonial.
Furthermore an English language diploma supplement is issued based on the model of the European Union, Council of Europe and UNESCO including the representation of the national education system agreed by the National Conference of Vice-Chancellors and Principals and Conference of Ministers of Education. This specifically includes information about the University, the type of degree, the degree programme, the entrance and study requirements, and learning outcomes; it also includes an ECTS Grading Table, which sets out a table with the percentage distribution of average grades achieved by graduates in the given period, where there are sufficient comparative figures.
Certificate, testimonial and supplements can be generated semi-automatically by the Examination Offices with the aid of the electronic exam administration system. Students also have the option of having up-to-date performance records generated by the electronic exam administration system at any time, and this can be used for ex- ample in order to apply to other locations or to show to the Student Advisory Service. They have an encrypted signature to enable recipients to verify them. Either all examinations which were taken successfully may be shown, or optionally also those which were not passed. Since summer 2011 it has also been possible to generate special performance records for submission to the Educational Grants Office.
