Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Servieces and Orientation
Teaching and Learning in Higher Education structures its services according to the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hochschuldidaktik’s (DGHD) quality standards for accreditation of professional development services in teaching and learning in higher education, and focuses on the stated teaching quality areas and objectives of the University of Göttingen.
The service is designed for all teaching staff at the University of Göttingen and aims to reach various target groups and teaching experience levels. Teaching and Learning in Higher Education works in close cooperation with stakeholders within and outside the university.
The following are available:
- Both the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education certificate programme accredited by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Hochschuldidaktik (DGHD) and the advanced module Hochschuldidaktik PLUS [Teaching and Learning in Higher Education PLUS] which is offered in cooperation with Clausthal Technical University, offer a sound, structured insight into the principles of teaching and learning in universities. The aim of this programme is to pass on core contents and methods of teaching and learning in universities, boost existing skills and encourage putting higher education teaching methods into practice.
- The open workshop programme offers the opportunity for interest-led in-depth training on various themes. It also enables development of an individual higher education teaching profile.
In addition there is a wide range of advisory services offering support to teaching staff; this ranges from individual advice on teaching to classroom work shadowing.
