Data Analysis and Use of Degree Programme Monitoring Results
Exam administration collects a mass of data which can be used for efficient degree programme monitoring, such as the degree programme, the faculty, the subject semester, what examinations are taken including grades, and details of any leave of absence. The database records all examination work for Bachelor and Master degree programmes. The information can be used by various groups of people. Consequently, the effect of degree programme monitoring can be felt at several levels:
Students
Students receive a summary of their academic progress and performance. It is also possible to see their own performance in relation to that of fellow students from the same cohort.
Offices of the Deans of Studies and their Representatives
The Offices of the Deans of Studies use the data and surveys to, for example, keep an eye on the feasibility of courses and capacity of their degree programmes or the capacity of and demand for specific courses. The length of time taken for studies can also be shown, revealing demand for additional support services.
Academic Advisors
In the student advisory service, the detailed inquiry of student data enables more precisely tailored advice by the student advisors, so that comprehensive advice on many subject areas is already possible at the first contact, provided that the students have agreed to the inspection of their data for this purpose.
Student and Academic Services/Strategic Development and Controlling Office
Data serve as an information base in preparation for strategic decisions. They can also be referred to as a source of information for the reaccreditation of degree programmes.
Examination Offices
The statistics portal enables comprehensive lists to be compiled according to diverse criteria, in order for instance students who are studying according to a specific exam regulation. The exam administration modelling can also be checked.
