Description and Objectives of Degree Programme Monitoring

Degree programme monitoring is part of evidence-based quality management at the University of Göttingen. The basis of degree programme monitoring is process-generated data, which is collected and stored in the course of exam administration (using the University’s own software programme FlexNow) at the University of Göttingen. These data are accessible through the following systems:

  • –› FlexStat (all faculties except University Medical Centre)
  • –› UMC degree programme monitoring (University Medical Centre Göttingen)
  • –› SAP Business Warehouse

Whilst the focus of the SAP Business Warehouse is on consistent data retention and the possibility of coherent analyses, the University’s own Flex-Stat programme provides up-to-date operative data.

Based on the study progress and examination data, degree programme monitoring can discern structural problems with degree programmes and identify students’ individual needs for support. In addition, the portal serves as an information base for strategic decisions and increases responsiveness to problems when they occur.
