Organisational Structure of the University

The University of Göttingen is under the auspices of the government and since 2005 has been run by a public law foundation. This allows it the autonomy as a public body to manage its affairs free of ministerial supervision. Governance is provided by a Foundation Council, with a University Foundation Committee and a Medical School Foundation Committee  which contribute external expertise. The organisational structure of the University is established in the Constitution (PDF, German; 226 KB)  of the University of Göttingen.
