Objectives of Qualitative Data Collection

The objective of the qualitative survey is to obtain similar information at degree programme level as with the quantitative data from the survey of graduates. An additional advantage of the qualitative survey is that graduates provide independent assessments of the range of topics and are not restricted by the predetermined categories of the quantitative survey. Thus one obtains far more detailed assessments of the individual aspects that are raised; this could not however be generated for all degree programmes at the University on account of the high cost of the method.
